This report provides the test results found to date for the Synapse SB67070 SIP Gateway evaluation. The following is
a summary of the issues and limitations found while performing the test.
Outbound Caller ID Blocking not supported
While faxing will work using G.711 pass-thru, it is not reliable for mission critical faxing. Fidelity SkyTalk
recommends that you keep fax lines on PSTN or use our Hosted Fax feature.
G.722 and G.722.1 codecs
RTCP Sender Reports
Passing Calling Number marked private
T.38 Fax is not supported
If you use a static IP, please provide Fidelity SkyTalk a fixed IP address or range, and we will block
registration attempts outside that range.
Most customers prefer to pass through Caller ID from Fidelity SkyTalk. If you prefer pass through Caller ID
from the Synapse Gateway, let us know.
At least one valid US address for e911 is required.
We recommend using our optional PIN feature to authenticate international calls; simply enough, when you
dial an international call our cloud will ask you for a four digit PIN before completing it. You can choose to
have us “remember” your authentication for up to an hour or require it for each call.
With Fidelity SkyTalks Enhanced SIP Trunk feature, you can specify a secondary destination for calls that
can’t reach your Synapse. You can route callers to a second location, trunk, bank of outside numbers, or
voicemail in the event your PBX loses connectivity with our cloud. This destination can be changed at any
time by logging into your Fidelity SkyTalk Portal account.
